The Burkhart Center for Autism Education & Research will be hosting a three-day workshop on Research Methods in Special Education from June 26-28, 2025 here at Texas Tech University.
This is a three-day, intensive training designed for faculty and graduate students interested in advancing their research skills in special education. Our interdisiplinary workshop, hosted in collaboration with faculty from the University of Oklahoma, will provide hands-on training in research methods commonly seen in special education, with a focus on addressing the challenges and opportunites unique to rural special education settings.
Participants will engage in expert-led sessions, collaborative research activities, and practical applications of research methodologies. The program will also include discussions on emerging trends, grant writing strategies, and pathways to publication. Additionally, attendees will gain access to professional networking opportunities and mentorship to support their ongoing research.
This workshop is designed for TTU and TTUHSC graduate students, faculty, and staff who are interested in enhancing their knowledge and skills in special education research methodologies and best practices. Limited travel stipends may be available for distance students to attend. Application deadline is February 28.
