You will be randomly assigned to consult with either a physician on preventive physical health care or a mental health specialist on preventive mental health care. You will remain paired with the same provider throughout the study that consist of five sessions including four telehealth sessions (using different technologies such as phone, laptop, LCD, and cameras) and one in-person session. The study will take place at the Family Therapy Clinic (FTC) at Texas Tech University.
These sessions will focus on general wellness advice only; no specific medical advice, prescriptions, or treatments will be given, as the study is solely for testing telehealth technology and environments. Each session will last around 5 minutes. After each session, you will complete a short questionnaire on a tablet and answer one interview question. The questionnaire and interview process will take about 10 minutes in total after each session. The entire study will take no more than an hour and a half to complete. Participants will receive a $50 Amazon gift card upon completing the study.
Please note: All sessions and the following interviews, including telehealth and in-person, will be video and audio recorded for research purposes. These recordings will only be accessed by the research team and will be securely stored.
